The numbers of people experiencing homelessness have grown significantly across Melbourne's north and west in the last five years since the 2011 Census. In the West homelessness overall has increased by 40%, while the number of people living in severly over crowded situations has nearly doubled.
In growth corridor areas such as Hume and Whittlesea, homelessness has increased by nearly 40%.
